According to the We Give Books website, an initiative started between Penguin Group and the Pearson Foundation to help give books to those less fortunate, such as the "Room to Read" program in South Africa, the "Haiti Learning Spaces" and Volunteer USA to name a few. For each book read for free on the We Give Books website, they will donate one book to the charity of your choice listed on their site. The site includes several children's books in various categories and age ranges between 0-10 years old as well as detailed charity descriptions and even some author interviews.
So go on, check out this website, read some cute books online with your children (or even by yourself if you're like me and love kiddie books), or get a group together and read up a storm together, and help donate books to those in need!
